I posted this thread in the Canadian truckers subreddit but there isn't much traffic.
Hello,
We have our own authority, MC, DOT and NYHUT permit and I and my dad never did trucking in to U.S We have been doing all the runs within Canada and I think it's best if we head across the border; However, I am still a little nervous on how the process works. People have told me it's simple and this is what I have learned. Please note, we are based out of Toronto, Ontario.
1. Book a load and get confirmation with a customs receipt.
2. Some where on the receipt there will be custom brokers contact. Put either PIP/PAPs sticked (don't know which) and email it to the broker.
3. Put the load info onto Borderconnect and wait on the process.
4. One the load is cleared, I should get a text on the entry number.
Am I missing something? How can I make this process easier and simpler?
Thank you

Your HOS are more lax than the US... so you would need to follow the US HOS.

You need an ACE lead sheet. Coming northbound with a load, you must also have a lead sheet now. 2000 fine if you don't.
