Just wondering what kind of freight you 're pulling when you go out with your trainer? Dry van with lots of stops? Or do you have a choice to just drive in their reefer division?
CRE....what kind of freight?

Its all refer! Sometimes you get a 50 degree load and the reefer will turn on once per 1000 miles.
Loads we carried when I was there ranged from beer, to 2500# of secured freight (if anyone asked I told them it was a shortage of orville redenbachers popcorn, we had no idea what it was). Pulled confectioners sugar, kodak film for x-ray machines, alot of loads you just have a weight - a PO# - and get it there by this date. Some dedicateds hauled nothing but produce with requirement to clean trailer at end of load (dont want bacteria to grow from last load).
99% of loads are touchless, this means the shipper loads and secures the load inside. This way it removes you from the error factor. Qualcomm message comes to you with a trailer # and a PO#.
Paperwork usually is in trailer inspection hole. Get there, identify your trailer, make sure you have paperwork before you get under said trailer, get under trailer, do your tug test, set brakes, connect wires and raise gear, do your pre-trip and paperwork / macros, get going. If winter driving when you pull away look to make sure all wheels are turning. No need to find out your pulling a dead wheel from a frozen shoe. Remember its your tail on the line out there. Get in a habit of checking items.

All Reefer...good to hear. Thanks!

My guess the secured load was Flu / H1N1 vaccine. Healthcare providers are having a hard time getting it.

H1N1 virus was not known at time I was driving for England. I may have shot myself in the foot with the posts that I have done here with them. But such is life.
I drove for them back in November 07 through February 08.
Had this wonderful view out the window, and all those purty Century's for me to drool over.Attached Files:
