What is up with Craigslist job postings?

Why wont trucking company's disclose the name of their company. Do they really think in the age of identity theft that people will send their resumes. If you do you have no regard for your career or your privacy.

I will provide them a number to my magic jack phone, if they call they are possibly legit, if they don't I am glad I gave them minimal information.

Many of the postings I have seen are from freelance recruiters (headhunters). Google some of the phone numbers, you'll see they have different ads, touting jobs at different unnamed "companies" all over the country. Never had to deal with any of them, never will, maybe they're legit.....but I seriously doubt it.

When searching for a driving job or any job for that matter on Craigslist it's important to know how to filter the jewels from the trash.

99% are spam/overposts/scams. People desperate for work need to be taken advantage of.

Or, you're just so desperate to find work you'll do anything.

I wouldn't waste my time, and I can waste all of my time any way I want.

So the question is, WHY DO THEY LIE, Why must the industry(schools included) be like snakes in the grass. Like I said in onther post I do not believe that this is an employee market, seem as if there were all these jobs that need filling they would take anyone with an appropriate CDL in their wallet.

My general CL rules... if they don't leave a phone number I won't bother with the ad. Too many scammers want your email address as email lists are sold everyday to the spammers. They want legit current email addresses.

Then I'll google the phone number. If there is something fishy going on then the search will most likely reveal it. If it's attached to a trucking company then you'll have the name and can check their SMS. Many times the google search will leave a link to their DOT page and save you the work.

The good companies don't advertise much. The cheesy ones use every form of advertisement available.

Pick up one of them truck stop job books. Look at Craigslist. You now have a list of companies not to work for! :)

Problem is too many companies not enough drivers. Demand out numbers the resources so when they do have a qualified person they'll do or say anything to get them which causes the high turnover rate in the industry. Its not always the companies though. There is one you tube trucker who is like on his 4th company and he just got his license within the last year and half. So its hard for both company and driver to find the right fit. CL can be a gem if your looking for a small private company though. Problem is trying to see whos legit or not.

I have yet to see that gem company post on CL. The first place these 1-4 truck young outfits that pay 1099, run junk and don't play the game right is go to CL because they are too cheap to pay anyone for an ad.

I've found my best jobs through newspaper ads, word of mouth and even on CareerBuilder.com. That's just my personal experience. The internet is changing everyday.

No job on craig's list would be worth looking at IMHO....if they go to that length..then they're really only desperate for a warm body...not a driver. The best jobs out there you very rarely see ad's for...those jobs don't need the advertisement , most times it's someone who knows someone that gets those jobs.
