Hi was wondering which is a better company for obtaining my CDL license. I've been to a local truck driving school and completed my 160 hours there but failed my skills test and wasn't able to retake test due to the school wanting another $1250 for me to get more skill time. I have my CDL Permit out of Illinois. I've passed the pre trip inspection. I'm very low on money. I've spoke with both companies and CR England seems ideal since they only want you to stay with the company 9 months to have tuition paid off. Swift I think requires 13 months. After reading through the threads CR England sound like a bad company to work for. Also heard horror stories about Swift. So can someone who has experience with either company please give me some insight. Thanks.

Don't believe everything you hear about Swift. Go with Swift or maybe Southern Refrigerated Transport. Southern furnishes a hotel room and 3 meals a day and a bus ticket to the school.

I don't know the answer to that. One of their students posted on here she runs hard coast-to-coast and very happy there. There's an 800 number on their website.

CRST is also a 9 month obligation & would probably be better than England.

If you are a veteran, Swift is free. Your only obligation is to work 12 consecutive months in 15. National Guard members get $1000 off. Otherwise, Swift takes out $75 per week for one year and reimburses you $37.50 per week for 2 years. Hotel is an additional $500. Food is not included.

Don't go to C.omplete R.etard England. Scary company. I'd go to swift before I ever thought about England. Give Roehl transport a call they have a school. And it's a good company.
i second SRT I got a buddy that works there and he's also running coast to coast last week he got 3400 miles.

A person is better off being unemployed than to work for CR England. And no, that's not a joke I'm being serious. The average homeless guy lives a better life than somebody working for CR England, again that is not a joke, I'm serious.

Dont do CRST unless you want to spend a year with a codriver.

As much as this pains me, give Stevens Transport a call. They suck pay wise but will train you right.
