Checked on a load via Coyote Logistics about a load in Texas, supposed to pickup in San Antonio Texas to Laredo, most loads vis this shipper goes into Mexico so international and no Texas authority needed.
So I call the saleman we deal with and ask the golden question, does this load go into Mexico? He responds no, I tell him no thanks since we do not have Texas authority.
He becomes kind of snarkey, he tell me NO you are wrong you can haul one time in Texas to Texas, I respond back no thanks.
He tell me that his supervisor told him it is ok, I told him no thanks because I know better. Suddenly a females voice comes on the phone and tell me I do not know what I am talking about and Coyote does this all the time and the compliance department told her it was ok.
I tell her I am not interested and she hangs up on me.
So, I am human and subjective to correction thus I check myself and call Texas Commercial Motor Vehicle and talked to a Lieutenant, he confirmed my suspicions that Coyote was incorrect.
Once again, way to go.

I'm sure they'd be cutting you an express code on the house to pay that ticket and buy you out of OOS status said no broker ever.
Had a similar disagreement with a Choptank broker on load within PA. To their credit, they never insisted it would be ok. Just the "everyone else does it" story. Like you, I passed on it and proved my decision with not very much research.
On the other hand, you can get TX authority online in the time it takes your insurance to post a certificate. It was $200, but one time as long as you keep UCR paid up.aiwiron Thanks this. -
Lots of people don't know that rule it's the only way to get a cab card for Texas it's $200+ $45 a truck I think, that's good for two years!

I am for not getting OOS, now someone told me a roadside story that if you are caught it is not only a ticket and a fine but they jerk your authority to haul in and out of Texas for a while, not sure that part is a road side story. -
I'll say this about Texas ive been stopped at all hours 5am noon 11pm it don't matter I've been stopped at my house at 4am in the rain soon as I was pulling out he pulled in front of me and said back up he was going to inspect me......it's not the "check station" scale house you worry about it...

Ok im behind the times as i dont really go to texas because of the hassle getting back out, but what authority?

You need a TXDOT# to pick up and deliver the same load in Texas if your coming in the state dropping than reload and leave the state you don't need it

I have zero luck at going outlaw or lies, learned as a kid anytime I lied it was a mistake and if I take chances Karma bites me like a Dog with rabies.kerosene jockey, VIAJERO1A and critters Thank this. -
Update, received a call from said broker in question and offered the load to me again for 300.00 more, I said no thanks again and he got snotty with me and told me I needed to haul this load. So, I informed him he did not dispatch me and was not obligated to do this.
He hangs up on me, phone rings a few minutes later and it is him again. In the mean while I am booking round trips with C.H. Robinson and at a very good rate that will keep me loaded for the next two weeks.
I informed him that for the next few weeks I am booked up, he fly s off the handle and tells me that he had loads going back to Florida he was going to give me, told him no thanks, I found a great deal with someone for a few weeks and unavailable.
Time for another sales contact with Coyote me thinks.trees Thanks this. -
