My ? Is about Covenant Transport co is it a good company to work for and with team driving I've been told that all pay is usually to the truck and not to individual drivers if that's true how are taxes taken out for each driver? I'm only asking cause covenant is the only prehire I got right now and is looking like I will be doing teams. Also are there other companies that will hire people with past drug charges well paraphernelia that is over 5yrs old? Thanks for your help

If you are a company driver, I don't understand the pay to the truck. Statement.
-
I was told that they to the truck and the drivers split the money... but if that is true how are taxes paid? The covenant recruiter is coming on wed to the school and I will ask him just thought someone here would know cause you know recruiters will tell you what you want to hear
Chinatown Thanks this. -
What they mean about the pay, is team driving pay. For example, let's say a team pay is .40 cents per mile. that is split to .20 cpm for each driver for all miles the truck moves, whether the driver is sleeping or driving. You will receive a standard pay stub, with all deduction shown, including taxes.
There are some other companies that might hire you with the record. Some of these look at each applicant on a case by case basis. Apply online and see. Covenant might work for you also. Don't know enough about them to judge. Do know they went on a buying spree a few years ago and bought several dry van and reefer companies.

Each driver is paid separately, but they share the same miles. So if the team drives 7000 miles for the week & one driver is making 22cpm & the other 23cpm, they will gross $1540 & $1610 respectively. It doesn't matter if one person drove 3000 miles and the other 4000 -- they both are paid for the total 7000 miles the truck drove.
kadmiel812 and Chinatown Thank this. -
All I know is Covenant will hire about anything, which ought to give you an indication.
-
Well they are a break in company and I gotta start somewhere I don't expect to be top dog right out of school
-
They won't hire you with a drug felony. Covenant I mean.
