we ran equal in our tires years ago,a powder. what a joke. caused air stems to leak, any water in the air and i clumped. just sucked. i've been very leary of those products since.

but i had some pretty good shakin' going on in the drives.real bad between 55 and 60. i have 4 bridgestones, and 4 roadmaster bridgestone copies. all virgin tires, but all at differing tread depths, and are getting down in the 1/4' arena.

threw 12oz of counteract beads in each tire last weekend. pretty much took all the shake out. so nice to have a smooth ride again. about 85 bucks total.

I didn't have positive results with them. The science made sense, but the results didn't produce.

I balanced all 18 wheels, and put Centramatics on every axle.

Yep, I have Centramatics on every axle too, best investment for your tires.

I have good luck with counteract beads also. Tires wear evenly and smoothly. Truck rides smooth as silk.

    dustinbrock and blairandgretchen Thank this.

I run 12oz of ceramic balancing beads in each of my semi tires. I use them to balance my motorcycles, cars, and trailers. As the OP said when I changed my semi tires they had the powder crap in them... it is the worst thing for your tires.

when you take the tyres off get a scoop and scoop all the beads out and use them again

I use Equal in the steers and it works great for me. You have to check pressures with the valve stems at the top of the wheel and make sure the air is dry, something you can only be 100% sure of in your own shop. Next time I get new drives I'll put them in there.

I have been partial to Balance Masters rings on my steers, but I use the beads in my wide based drive tires. Got 447,000 miles out of last set of drives, still had 8-9/32nd tread and no uneven wear, got $150 for each of the used tires from my dealer. Have averaged 225,000 miles on my steers.
