I just want to say that the 359 Pete is one of my absolute most favorite trucks of all time, but how in the world did they get that name for the dash? Did the Corvette dashes of the era have a similar shape? I know nothing about Corvettes, so forgive me if that was a stupid question.
If this was actually the official name Pete used for it, funny Chevy or GM didn't have beef with them for using that name, as Ford recently sued Ferrari for them stupidly trying to name a car F150...

The older Corvettes had a dash of similar shape, hence the name. It was never officially called that, it just caught on.
dieselpowerrules Thanks this. -
O okay, thanks Nevs.

The engineer who designed it was actually inspired by the ####pit of an aircraft, not a corvette.
