Mine started turning yellow so I just bought a new one for $75 at Truck Pro (05 columbia) It only took 30 minutes to replace it.

I've cleaned them out on cars before. I'll remove them and douse them with CLR and power spray them good. If you have a small bottle brush or even a rag on a screw driver will help you wipe the walls down. But the CLR gets the most of it. Rinse it good before reinstalling.

If it's all cruddy, so is your whole cooling system. Good time for a flush before summer comes around.

Caution: A steam cleaner at close range will blow right through a plastic tank.

Just trying to get it clean enough to see the level again. It just has the buildup in it that is normal with a 8 year truck.

    Thanks for everyones help.

Try dawn dish soap. This is the same stuff we used in the shop for oil in the radiator. Does a great job.

I would try crushed ice and rock salt. Pour some in and shake it up, it should scrub some of the crud out of the reservoir.

i heard on a car program that cascade dishwater soap was very good because it produced less bubbles. the guy said he flushed it a few times and it would remove all the scale and rust
