I thought that I have read were drivers have a hot plat that they cook on. How can you do that with an open pan & not make a mess from the smoke coming off the pan while it is cooking?
How does a person clean up the dishes, especially the cooking dishes when finished?
Thanks

I have seen people take their dishes straight into the truck stop bathroom and scrub them out. But if that doesn't appeal to you, you can buy water from Walmart cheap, stock them under your bunk and use water bottles with soap to clean them out in the parking lot. some truck stops have water pumps you can just pump water into a large pan and squirt some dish soap into it and you can scrub away. Park it first, the pumps are at the fuel island...don't do it there. lol

You can use a small electric skillet with a lid or a George Foreman grill or one of the Hot Logic oven things or a self contained small crock pot. These are reasonably easy to clean and low mess. Depends on the power setup on your truck and what you want to cook.
Get a small Rubbermaid tote, carry water and a little thing of dish soap and you've got your dish washing system.Sirscrapntruckalot Thanks this. -
Dish soap is a good thing to bring with you. Not just for cleaning your dishes, but also for cleaning your windshield in the winter when all that white #### cakes and smears all over it.
I went to my parents house to clean the windows for them. Threw away the window cleaner and used their dish soap in a large bucket. Just needed a rag and a squeegee. No paper towels needed. It's that easy. it will clean any mess off your glass.laaylor and Swiss Mountain Dog Thank this. -

As the others above touched on..
Foreman Grill - Whatever size fits your needs.
Crock Pot - Awesome meals you can make while driving an just let an sit an chill through out the day til your ready to eat. Pot Roast, bbq chicken(Falls right off the bone) Chili, and lots of other things.
Electric Skillet - Everything from fried chicken to mac n' cheese. Breakfast, lunch an dinner.
Air Fryer - Good for when your stopped an got a craving for some unhealthy but tastes so good fried eatin's. Traditional fryer but those can be messy an require you doing something with the oil after each use or risk a mess in the truck.
One of those sandwich things - Make all kinds of good stuff.
Sure others will chime in wish suggestions. All of the above can make you a great meal, healthy or not.
Oh an pick up a few cook books...thrift stores, used book stores etc. Can find some easier then you'd think stuff to cook on the go/run. An won't cost you a ton since your buying used.
Good luck, an more importantly...Good eating.
