There are more minuses than pluses with this local company that have a few terminals around the South and South West.
The unions could do great things here if they were not over 100% on accidents with the CSA score and might be shut down soon.
Worked for them since spring on a few so called dedicated accounts but they really cannot be considered as such because it is a grab bag of what you will bring back. They insist you run OTR if your dedicated is not running which is again, a grab bag of crap. They expect the drivers to have no home lives, which in the 70s and 80s might have been fine but us younger drivers are not the old road dogs living in truck stops and cat houses. The pay is so so and off the dedicated it really sucks. The dispatchers do not listen to the drivers.
They also tell you when you hire in that if you leave without 5 days notice that they will deduct 100.00 for some fee but yet took 500.00 from my buddy and said it was the new rule that no one told him or I about. They waived mine as they informed me since he was the one they had it out for and hoped I would stay but understood that I would not do OTR.
In a nutshell just another crap company that while the maintenance is great, they treat the drivers like slaves to the grind then wonder why they have so many wrecking. They seem to use Craigslist as their advertising department if that tells you anything. I will be shocked if they survive the next round of the DOT coming in after their encounter this past spring.

This Company is a huge joke wouldn't go back if they offered me half of the company
The Patriot Thanks this. -

they were garbage back in the mid 90s, they are known as the worst company to work for around here. steer clear of them. Roe Trucking is across the street, they are just as bad
The Patriot Thanks this. -
I know of a great local company but is heavy on drivers right now, hoping they pick up and I can go over there and be done playing "Find the good company" and stay somewhere.

As far as that Fatality, it was caused by a four-wheeler hitting a Barrier and then bouncing off of it and into one of our Trucks. Hardly a Companies fault!
Hometime is okay. Two weeks out and between 34-48 hours off. Seven days paid vacation every 90 days, starting first year. Can't beat that!
Pay is okay. I average $1,200/wk. Made more at Goodyear, but I like Driving more.
Dispatching is... well... yeah... screwy!!! Average 2300-2600 miles a week. Slower here lately. I use to get 2600+ every week. Earn .46 CPM (2nd year).
CE isn't by far a perfect Company, but it isnt all that bad neither. No, I am not a Company Manager. I am a Driver (535). Yes, I raise Hell too with my DM. you have to be Pro-Active with your Miles and keep on them to run you right.
Someone on here sounds like a former Team I heard about that quit. They were hired in to do a specific run. One required them to run two trips to Utah. One taking a 10 on the way in with a 24 hr home time to equal a 34 hr reset. The other then took a 24 hr Home time and a 10 hr break once on the Truck to equal 34 hr rest. They knew this going into the Job and agreed to it whole heartedly. Then cried and #####ed about it once they were hired. They quit without notice too. I hate it when I hear about people asking for a job and agreeing to the condictions of it, only to refuse to those condictions afterwards. Not the Companies fault if people cant man up and do what they agreed to do in the first place. -

That said, yes there are some good ones but CE is not one of them. Look at the record they have and the losers that keep kissing the rear of the idiots who run it. You mention ONE wreck...they are over 100% on accidents...not to mention fatalities.
As to unions, they have a time and place and many of these company drivers could benefit from them. I am not a big union guy but have enough sense to know that these companies are walking on drivers and some (like you) just keep bending over and saying "May I have another".
No they do not make a pill for what ails folks like you, your condition is quite terminal... it's called weakness.Last edited: Sep 22, 2015

Their "Vehicle" and "Driver" numbers on inspections actually look pretty good...they just can't seem to stop hitting everybody and everything. Accident numbers are HORRIBLE!The Patriot Thanks this.
