I am not a trucker but I have to travel a good bit for work with my F350 and a skid steer. Im looking for a fuel card that will work at a wide variety of stops and doesn’t have a high fee, if there is a debit card option that would be ideal because I’m not a fan credit cards. Im not looking for the discounts as much as I am just the ability to stop at whatever stop I can find. I’m a fan of the speed of fill ups at truck stops, but my personal card wont work at most of them. Any help would be appreciated Thank you

I am told the reason why most personal cards won’t work at the truck fuel Stop is due to the amount of money the computer requests pre approval for. Your normal car Pump asks for something between 75 to 150 dollars and is seen as normal and approved but the truck pump requests a lot more not positive the amount but I would guess it’s pritty high like a 1000. Anyway your card sees this as a red flag because of programming.
What I wonder is if you called your card company/bank and explained, if your credit is good could they program it to let it be used.
Thought about trying this for my personal truck because of the hassle at some pumps when hauling a trailer but haven’t gotten around to it.

You could probably get a TCS card. I think its prepaid, but its TCS/EFS. I am not sure exactly if it would work at a regular gas station, though unless they take the TCS or EFS card too.

Open roads RV card or TCS.
Open roads is basically the same as TCS it has a few more stops in network.
They also have a commercial card, but the discounts are mostly just ta/petro. Everything else is cash price.

    I use Open Roads also.

Keep in mind fuel discounts are provided through the truck lanes, not the diesel pumps that cars have access to. When you get a card, you'll need to fuel with the big trucks. The nozzles are larger in diameter so you may need to knock out the hole in your filler neck.

    Can’t argue with that
I was just trying to come up with something he’d be able to get since he isn’t really commercial

Check out Mudflap.com diesel only, very popular discount plan, using a credit card. The 50.00 charge is only to make sure the card is good, it will be reversed after the fuel transaction goes through.
