Truck is a new Freightliner Cascadia. So far its running without any issues, but I keep getting different SPN fault codes that pop up and then go away on my ELD telematics software. Truck is still under warranty, I'm planning on taking it to the dealership to get it checked out. Has any one dealt with anything like this? What's the best way to approach this? I spoke to a mechanic who told me the dealership won't be able to do much if there isn't an actual issue present or an actual engine light on. I'm worried that issues might be piling up underneath and will make things worse later... Any guidance is greatly appreciated, thanks

If your codes are only coming up on your ELD, wait until the truck is broken. Make sure your ELD is connected per FL installation methods….. not directly into the 9pin. I see a ton of incorrectly installed ELDs causing intermittent CAN codes and issues.

The ELD is connected directly into the diagnostic port. I had a mechanic run his scanner as well and he told me there were a lot of inactive codes stored indicating data link issues. Yesterday, the engine light came on momentarily but has since disappeared (driver is out on the road right now). Do you still think it's safe to run it until something actually breaks? I was thinking about creating a list/report with all the SPN faults I've been getting to show the dealership... is this a waste of time?

Step 1. Get with a dealer and make sure your ELD is installed correct. Not per the ELD manufacturer. Per Freightliner

If it's a new FL it doesn't plug into the 9 pin port. Plugs in on the center right side panel.
