So I recently changed company's.. this new truck I got you can only have one fiberglass antenna. Problem is someone cut that main wire so I bought a new coax wire ran from outside to inside threw wing window. I bought a swr/ power metar yesterday set the swrs. Saying I can only run one antenna should I go and buy a whip today n use it.

Also its company truck so no drilling any holes lol

I'd run a whip if it were me. Not a fan of fiberglass antennas. The whip style antennas can't be beat IMO.

Also ensure you keep the Connex on the D band with the 10 kHz switch on high, to keep your SWR down and also to keep the radio on the citizens band.

Will they let you put a Wilson 2000 on it? That is a great single antenna.

The 3300 does not have a 10 KHZ switch.....At least the one i have doesn't.
The 10K switch puts you between channels. I don't think it has anything to do with the antenna SWR reading anyway.
On mine it is the band switch that stays on high.

Wilson makes good antennas. 2000 is a good choice of antenna. I have a magnet mount 5000 on my car (also paired to a Connex 3300HP), but that's just because I got a really good deal on it. Otherwise, I'd have opted for a 1000 or 2000.

The 10 kHz switch is there to dictate which band you're on. With it down (lo) you are on bands A,B or C, with it up (hi) you're on bands D, E or F. All bands except D are either ham bands or govt owned bands.

    EZ Money Thanks this.
