Was wondering if anyone knows of any companies that have long haul dedicated routes? Preferably at least 1500 miles each way and mostly stays out of big cities. Starting possible in the west and staying out of the east coast. Pick up in one city, drive 1500+ miles or more and then drop . Return to same shipper and receiver each time. Yes i'm getting more picky the longer i have been doing this, that is the only way i'm going to stay on the road is if i can find just the right position and do something predictable

Salt lake City utah. But I could probably start somewhere within a 500 mile radius

Presumably Ship Ex doesn’t work? I regularly see them running across I-70, through the midwest.

Don't dismiss shorter dedicated routes. Years ago I ran one, drop and hook at the shipper in the afternoon then backed into the dock at the receiver around midnight. They came in at 8:00 AM unloaded and reloaded empty racks. 660 miles a day. 5 days a week and was home every weekend.

You might look into Dot Foods, as they’ve added a SLC yard. They use to have 42 trailers booked for Mt Sterling > Modesto, every weekend. I used to run those. Also, I’ve worked for Burley, running loads between there and SLC. I don’t know what things look like, today. You might call them. My buddy has been making $110K, the last 10yrs, with them. Drivers are paid for everything. A clean CSA is worth $1150/qtr. Annual employee bonus is usually $3K-$4K. My last annual bonus was $3800, in 2019. They have inward facing AI cameras.

That sounds like a pretty ideal set up. Even if i could drop a trailer, go bobtail somewhere and sleep and pick it up in the morning. I know those kind of gigs are out there. Just don't know how to find them.

    Still undecided Thanks this.

That is great money and bonuses for sure. Everything sounded good until you mentioned an Ai robot cam would be studying me all day long. I can't stand that unless they let me cover it up with tape or a picture of a Politician giving the camera the middle finger, lol. I was around when swift tried putting the first drivers facing cams in trucks and a bunch of drivers quit, then they suddenly reversed the policy. I'm still in that mindset. I know of a medium sized company that claimed they never looked at the videos unless there was some accident. Then they found out later a group of women working there were sitting around watching video of drivers in the trucks and laughing at them. They got caught . Someone blew the Whistle. Unless they let me stick a camera in their face at their cubicle at work and living room, then it isn't fair. Thanks for the info though

You can't eradicate traveling, picking up or even delivering to large cities in trucking. Lol, it's a pain in the ### but it's necessary evil. Long haul trucking is slowly dying off unless you want to team. Many companies put their trailers on the rail now. All that said, I'd look into Pride Transport since you're there in Utah. Maybe Bay and Bay Trucking is an option. Magnum as well, as they all seem to have presences in Utah. Justin Time Transportation advertise average length of haul 1500 miles, they're down in Arkansas and they fall under the radar but I believe you're in their hiring area.
