So I moved into a new truck...never had an APU I know nuthin about them. What I do know is this one doesn't get cool lol. Question is how do u stop it from starting up. It starts about 5 mins after I kill the engine. But past few nights it been cool. Widows cracked ,vents open and little fan is fine. But APU always kicks on. What do I do?

Push the blue arrow and turn that temp to cold for starters. If you want to shut it off, just push the apu off button on the top left.
There should be a little instruction card in your truck somewhere.motocross25 Thanks this. -
Some apus have a battery minder which will kick on to keep batteties charged. The main menu options should allow you to shut of battery charging. If it isnt sending cold air out of vents, it needs servicing. You can prob download operating manual online, just search for carrier model number operating manual.

Sounds like you have the battery monitor set to on. When the truck's batteries drop below a set voltage point (which you can adjust by the way), the APU is kicking on to recharge the batteries. You can either turn the monitor off altogether, or set the threshold lower so the APU isn't kicking on as much.

I also have a ComfortPro apu and yes the manual is available online. Also that little battery symbol up by your hours meter means batter monitor is on. These guys have good advice. Either shut that off or lower the setting. Mine is at 11.8. Also I couldn't help but notice you have your AC on high but the marker pin is all the way to the right. That H is for Hot. Drop that sucker down to the left on C for cool and that might be your fix.
baha Thanks this. -
@Treputt @motocross25 i think u guys were rite I put the battery monitor On off I think it stopped. Lmao I know c was for cold I was messing with it when I took the pic. I think it may need service tho it's not too cold. I just wanted it to stop goin on all the time.
Thnx so much for ur help
@mitrucker i found that card too
Thanx guys -
Yep you bet dude good luck. This is my first apu and I'm not impressed. I been in in the shop like every other week with it. As we speak, the apu will fire up SOMETIMES, but when it does as soon as you hit AC it dies. And our trucks won't idle. Been a fun couple nights. Especially tonight in Memphis

Battery Monitors usually get set without being calibrated. But the way it sounds if it's dying as soon as you are turning on the ac it sounds like an excessive load on the generator which is killing the engine. I would guess maybe a possible short.
motocross25 Thanks this. -
Does it die like it was turned off or like some sort of excessive load was placed on the engine? (Compressor is froze up and binds the engine when the clutch engages)
They are also bad about the alternator sometimes getting tight and locking up after sitting for extended period without starting, to where the engine can't turn to start.motocross25 and mitrucker Thank this.
