If you have read what is posted on here there is mixed reports, talking to drivers is hard but when one does reply back it has been positive.
So how did your experience go with them?

Colonial Freight Systems is an o/o company. I called Colonial and asked them about their l/p plan. The payments for everything (insurance, plates etc.) is $753.00 per week for an 2009 Volvo. The lease runs anywhere from six months to three years depending on the year model and the mileage. At the end of the lease you have the option to turn this truck in for a new truck or buy it. How much I don't know. I called OOIDA compliance office and asked them about Colonial Freight Systems. Jerry stated that they have not had any complaints about Colonial Freight. However they have had a lot of complaints about the l/p plans out there by other companies and no names were mentioned. Jerry said he recommended staying away from l/p plans and that the complanits were about the companies cutting their miles back causing the driver to lose his truck. I asked Colonial Freight for a copy of the lease agreement so I could have Jerry (OOID compliance officer) to look at the with lease agreement. Colonial Freight refused to give give me a copy of the l/p plan.
Jerry also stated that OOIDA would like to hear the good about the l/p plans as well as the bad. THANK YOU OOIDA and you to JERRY!!

I am only going to say this about them not wanting to release the contract. Stay away if they don't want you to take that contract to an attorney there are some hidden issues somewhere. You should have the right to have that contract reviewed for legal advise

It is at a driver best to stay away from this company.I have work there before like many others and most of there drivers are gone with in the first 2 weeks to 3 months. You will not suceed at this company,I promise.I will lay my life on the line if that's a lie. They claim to pay 67% of the gross but what they don't tell u is how much the gross was before they posted the gross. On the dry van side your pay will be .77 cents per mile, plus fuel surcharge of about .40 cents, and lot's of deadhead.Deadhead pay .44 cents after the first 100 miles,This company is a joke.
They will give u a nice new truck,a good trailer most of the time, and the miles will be there most of the time,But you will not make money after your first two weeks(that's when the truck note starts rolling)This company was design to make the company huge profits and the drivers will go broke.I promise.Take my word,Drivers beware!!!!Please stay away from this company.

As I have posted info on this company in my other post,I would also like to add that this company is a huge controll freak. You will pay for the refer fuel.whenever the trailer is drop and the tank on the refer is not fill,u will be charge 3 quarters of a tank.I have went weeks without a pay check trying to give them a chance but they really don't even care. You will loose everything you own if u take a chance and go over there.Every one that works inside the office all drives new cars and take a paycheck home weekly. You the driver will go without one.It is also funny how every single face at each one of there crappy locations are white.Only one black works at there office in Knoxville,Tn.And he works at night. They do have a lot of black drivers, some mexicans,a black guy that works in the shop in Nashville,Tn and I think about Two black guys in there shop in Atlanta,Ga.But no other race inside of the office. And I am a white guy that just notice a lot.
Companies like this should be place out of business. We as drivers are very important to this country. We have to try and stick together and not encourage companies to continue with there nonsense.Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company. This is one company for sure will put you in the poor house.

    67% is more like 33%

.77 cents is your milage pay

.45 cents is your deadhead pay after the first 100 miles

You will have to pay for the refer fuel,Tank must be filled when drop or driver will be charge 3 quarters of a tank.

Controll freaks,Never turn down a load,They want to own you

Never go home or you will be taught a lesson. That's no lie.Drivers beware of this company. You have been warn!!!!!!

blowinsmoke!! did you not see my post above? that email came from ooida legal department. if you doubt me call ooida and ask for the guy. colonial will want you to drive for them for a limited time to see if truck driving is what you really wanna do. after a month or two, they will require you to lease a truck from them. i asked the recruiter for a copy of the lease and she sent me to the finanicial dept. who stated that would not send me a copy of the lease so i could have a lawyer look it over. he told i would be allowed to look it over whle i was in orientation. i sent colonials email to oodia who told me to run away, they had something to hide r they would give me a copy of the lease.
