I had a 1500 watt Powerdrive but felt I needed a "better" one. So I bought the 2500 watt or whatever it is, Cobra. I just had in my head that Cobra is top of the line. They sure seen me coming!

At first, I had a ton of issues with the ground. Kept blaming my fridge. Turns out the ground bolt on it was loose. I attempted to call Cobra customer service. Twice they said they'd call me back but never did. So, I was able to barely get it apart enough to tighten the bolt. Then maybe a month later the fan started making funky noises and then quit. Okay, whatever, I just kept a fan blowing on it when I use the microwave, toaster, coffee pot etc...

Now, the darn thing decides it's gonna start sounding the alarm at 2 in the morning. And the power button no longer works. So the first time I had to disconnect it from battery. Being I'm in a T2000, the batteries are a pain to get to. The next time, I realized it can just disconnect the power cable at the inverter. Regardless, it's enough to make a guy wanna break something.

The past month I've been emailing their customer service. A week after the first email, I finally got a response. They said if I had a receipt then I can send it back and they'd look at it. I think since their product failed that they should send me a replacement unit and I'd send this one back. They won't do that but will sell me one and then refund when they get the old unit back. I'm not down with that, either. Then the alarm crap started happening so I gave up. Told them I'll send this PoS back for them to send me a box, cause I shouldn't be out shipping. LMAO That ain't happening. They will send me a label but if I want to send it back, it's my own dime, not theirs.

I hooked up the old 1500 watt Powerdrive yesterday and have the junk Cobra ready to send back. It's been four days since they said they mailed a label to me to put on the box and it's still not here.

I am completely and utterly disgusted with Cobra customer service and their product. I will never, ever buy a cobra product again. I should of read reviews but figured Cobra is quality. :biggrin_25510:

I have had several Cobra's and have been happy with them over the years. You probably got the last one before quitting time.

Customer service sucks anywhere anymore. I've had a similar experience with HP. I refuse to buy their products anymore.

We'll see...if I ever get the label to send this junk back how the new one acts.

And Sprint customer service, Cox and Microsoft have been great and on the ball. I've dealt with all three often over the past few years. Sprint is really great at customer service....that's what made me go with them over Verizon.

I just expect more from a product and it's representatives....especially when you gotta kick out the dollars like you do for their inverters.
