cobra 29 lx or uniden 880

    hi everyone, iam new to the furum. ive had a cobra 29 ltd classic for years and its been tweet and tuned. but its about 8 yrs old and little things are going wrong with it. i bought a 29 chrome but cant stand the blue leds so i took it out of my truck. ive got a little over $100 points at pilot and wonder what is better the 29 lx or the uniden 880. dont know anything about either of them.

    29 LX is nice, and can be peaked and tuned. The uniden 880 from what I have read cannot. I like my 29lx and can get out about 5 miles most times, and 8 under good conditions.

    The 880 can be peaked and tuned..... Doug @ www.customcbradios.com even did one up with a RFX-75. I personally run a 880 in my 4-wheeler and love it! Everyone tells me i sound so clear when i talk. I also like the idea that later this year it can be setup with a wireless mic. It's got the 7 colors to choose from in the display so you can choose the one you like.. If you into sidebands the 980 is just as nice.

    thanks everyone for your help. i really like the 880 but i think all get the 29lx just becuase its been out longer. thanks again.
