Never work for Cobb transport in champaign,Illinois!! The pay that you get promised, never gets seen. You can expect to make less than minimum wage per week. Always less than $300, at times less than $100. With that being said, miles per week are at least 1,000-1,600 miles at a supposed pay of.90 per mile. All the tru is break down, and then you have multiple people sharing a truck. At times you get forced to refuse loads because he lent "your" truck out to someone else. Then the fuel that comes out of your check is drained out by the various people using the truck. You can guarantee something is ALWAYS going to be not working on the truck. You get told you get to pick the days you want to work, AND get the weekends off. YA RIGHT! Then u get told its a 7 day operation and must work every day! Not sure how this guy is even still in business. Shocked as well not to find similar posts.

They probably can't afford a computer.
Are you sure you have the name right? I can't find any records on them. There are four Cobb Transports listed. Two in GA, one in VT and one in MI. Those are all one driver companies.
Welcome to TTR. -
Oh yes, believe me. It may be a small company, but it's there. It apparently is listed in Urbana,il. Which is connected to champaign.

I looked on the FMCSA safestat website. You can search out any trucking company and see their profile. I expanded the search to just "Cobb" and about 200 companies come up. Only two from IL. One in Libertyville and one in Chicago.
Maybe he is running under a dba name?
Here's the website. You can tell alot about a company on there. See if you can find them.

Wow, I'm not familiar with that. Thank you for the information. Is it mandatory that a company be listed there? I as well tried googling the company several times, in which didn't amount to much more than contact information. It did occur odd to me. But simply chalked it up to it being such a small company of less than 20 that the possibility remained it had escaped the radar due to it being basically a bleep in the screen. They go through a broker called K.L. Breeden & sons, in which I did locate an actual website for. They actually pick up the goods at Supervalu.

If they are legal, they have a DOT# and MC#. If they have them numbers, they are on there somewhere. Maybe if you have a picture of the truck you can see the DOT or MC number on it and find them that way.
If they are like you said, they usually have a bad record with the DOT too.Tug Toy and Inittowinit Thank this. -
Im from the area. Cobb sounds like a small fleet owner leased to KL Breeden or Brisk Or whatever they're calling themselves this week. The supervalu in Urbana uses O/O's leased to Breeden or Brisk fo store deliveries. Have your significant other check out Whiteline on Springfield. I worked there for 3 years. Always made excellent $, and had alot of home time. Only reason I left is I found an out n back daycab job.
Inittowinit Thanks this. -
I think it says Cobb Farms on the door of the trucks.
-
No, it's not Cobb farms. It is just as I described above. I am not mistaken on the name or type of business. Thank you for your interest though.
