    Hello felow drivers.

I am sure we are all looking for a good company in these hard times. Word to the wise. Coastal Transport in Savannah GA ain't the one. If you want you CSA screwed then go for it. They run nothing but JUNK trucks, trailors, tires ..... Count on about 1500 miles a week including deadhead if you are lucky. They will hang you out over the weekend and don't care. Get stopped for equipment issues like separating tires, broken trailors, etc and you keep going. If no out of service they do not care. Oh yeah if you want a company that will take care of the driver and driver managers that will stand up for you, bend over. Need retention pay? Yeah right, always some excuse. Be sure not to pick your nose because the company boys love to squeal on you.

Other than that they are a great company.

I worked for CCC, a COMCAR company, which CT is a part of. Granted this was in '04 but I can tell you that I personally had none of these issues, my truck was always well maintained and I never ran in to too many ratty trailers.

Keep in mind CCC was a van division, it was .27 per mile to start. CT is obviously going to pay more than that, I believe back in '04 they were in the mid 30's.

    Hi guys
i was with CT back in 05-07 and did fine there started at .30 when i left i was at .39 always got home every weekend when i wanted too be then i always liked to stay out 2 weeks then home.
then as my milage rate hit upper 30's my miles started to drop off.
I left went too Tandem Transport when they opened their office here in Savannah.
Most money i ever mabe flatbedding was with Tandem average week pay was 1000+ after taxes.
I have heard that CT has had their share of freight problems since 08.

Good Luck on what ever you do.

From what I've been told CT is running into a problem now where freight is picking up again and we don't have the equipment to cover it all with top notch trucks and trailers (my truck was reportedly rolled when it was new, and my current trailer is older than I am o_O) but I just put my big boy panties on and do my job without whining, like earlier today when for some reason I delivered a load in downtown DC that required a boom truck, not in Coastals fleet.., so I had to sit around waiting and waiting till one showed up to unload the truck but I kept my dispatcher informed on what was going on, didn't complain, and just did my job which is probably why I've been home every weekend since I started (even though I wouldnt be against staying out) and never had a problem with detention/layover pay.
