I am adjusting the clutch on this truck before it goes into service, and I have exactly half an inch at the release bearing.

The instructions say to adjust the linkage to get the right brake squeeze first.

Then they say to get the right clearance at the release bearing and fork, if I understand correctly, they say to adjust the pedal stop inside the cab.

So my first question is, is that the correct sequence and method?

The second question is, can I adjust the linkage so that the clutch brake is just a little bit higher so I don't have to push my foot all the way down to the floor?

The last question is how do I adjust the pedal stop on an fld120?

Answer to line 5. Making the gap smaller than a 1/2 inch will do what you want with matching linkage adjustment. It is a fine line and you may have to work with it some.
If you ever get it where you want it than you normally only adjust pressure plate for more free play.

With the bearing to brake gap at 1/2". Adjust your linkage to 1/8" fork to release bearing. Put paper in between the bearing to brake for squeeze check. From there you should be able to adjust the stop.

Like @BoxCarKidd says. The goal is to adjust only the internal at your scheduled maintenance.

The Eaton instructions actually say to adjust 1/2” gap on release bearing to clutch brake first, next adjust linkage, for proper clutch brake engagement, 1/2”-1” from floor. And last, adjust forks gap ( freeplay) to 1/8” by adjusting the pedal stop in cab. I did mine though, just as goodysnap said, adjusting linkage, for 1/8” ( freeplay) after adjusting bearing/clutch brake gap at 1/2”. And clutch brake was right on the money. I didn’t want to adjust pedal stop unless it was necessary, figured it was set that way at factory, and should be correct if everything else was. If I changed the flooring, by adding thick wood or insulation, I figure, I might have to make adjustments.

so you actully want to use the floor as a stop then? I would imagine if you use clutch brake as a stop, you might damage it? enlighten me

You should never be down there when rolling anyhow. You'll have a hard time overpowering the clutch brake with that down push pedal. Just keep it grease and in adjustment and you'll be fine.

nah i only use clutch for starting off. I just wasnt sure if you could harm something when doing initial gear engagemnt for 1st or reverse if you press down to hard on clutch brake. if ya know what i mean
