I recently changed the air dryer cartridge, when one of the valves on the bottom started leaking air. The housing was a mess on the inside, it was really greasy.
I had to change my air compressor last year and at the same time they changed the governor and the blow-back valve(if thats what its called).
Today I took off the air dryer and its getting greasy inside again,I've also noticed that trailer couplings are greasy.

What can I use to clean out the air lines on the tractor and trailer? I've seen air brake de-icers at truck stops but noting that claims to clean out the air brakes.

Calgon makes a product called PNEU FLUSH , its used to clean oil / water out of airlines in Commercial & Production facilities. Used it once on the airlines for a live floor wood chip trailer did a good job.

might try draining the tractor air tanks daily. This will help remove the sludge before it can travel to the trailer.
It isn't a cure, but it certainly will help.

The oil should sit in the bottom of the wet tank, but if its getting to the trailer, then its getting to your brake valves in the cab, seat, suspension.... everywhere.
Might want to get it looked at, especial in this cold.....

What's the best way to use a product like this? Blow some thru the intake ofthe compressor? Or pull off every line and pour a little in :/ ?

you have to put it into the system after the air dryer, because the air dryer will spit it out, and it won't or shouldn't get past the dryer. Find the wet tank, and pour it in there, but make sure you have zero psi before undoing lines with dirt and debrit in them, use eye protection.

Like karhauler said. You can also put a quart of brakeline antifreeze in all your tanks. It has a lot of alcohol in it and will clean system. Thats what we do anyways. It will fake a lot of time to get all that. But ifs possible. Just be patient. May have to run product and get new dryer a few times. Have a spsre in truck to.

As was said you have to drain your air tanks, especially helpful when you are parked on a hill. Just because it has a dryer does not mean you do not get oil and water going threw especially once the volume of the air tanks is compromised.
Years ago we use to use carbon tetrachloride, it worked great but killed the operator.
    Just a thought!
