Ok I just had four used aluminum wheels put on my drives. 2 of them were polished and 2 were not (look like they were inners). What is the best way to get the road grime off of the two inners, because they actually look like they are black.I know one I get to a truck wash I can have them acidized before I have them polished but I am embarrassed now. LOL
I was thinking maybe oven cleaner or scrubby bubbles bathroom cleaner or maybe there is something you guys use that is best for you any help is appreciated.

KW,Pete dealers and TruckPro all carry aluminum acid, buy a couple of gallons and a bug sprayer (plastic only noy metal) from Lowes and do it yourself.
-
don't let the acid sit though. cuz it don't take long to etch the aluminum.
but any acid will do. i used to buy mine from a janitorial cleaning supply.richhawn Thanks this. -
dont do it acid pit aluminum and you will have to sand them to get the pits out. soap and water use a non acid aluminum cleaner then a good polisher

Professional Strength Mr Clean. Spray on, let sit for a minute and hose off with pressure hose. Then shine them up. I did this to tanks and wheels and it worked well. Dont let it sit too long though

Try Zep Citrus cleaner, you can even dilute it down a little. Spray on, brush, rinse off.

Anything Zep makes is high quality.
like said above, if you decide to use acid, spray it on the wheel and it will turn really white kind of foamy, let it sit maybe 30 second then wash it off, if it needs a second coat try it again but dont let it sit on there for too long of time or you will get streaks that will be a pain to get out...
just FYI the acid is not going to make your wheels shine, it will make them clean, but not shiney.
What I used to clean the wheels with on trucks that had really bad wheels was either diesel fuel or kerosene, because it will clean it up and remove any tar that is on them, just wear good rubber gloves and use a rag soaked in diesel and go to town on them...may need to buy a gallon because you use it pretty heavily.richhawn Thanks this. -

if you want them to shine they need to be polished. problem is they are machine finish.if they are inners. take it to blue beacon and have them brighten them as much as they can (acid) then you will have to sand them smooth because the machine finish has grooves and ridges from tye machining bit. start at about 250 grit and work up to 600 grit in stages. then they can be polished out.
i will do them for 400 bucks if you dont want to -
