Anyone know anything about Clean Harbors environmental services? They have class B drivers and require tanker plus Hazmat. I was wondering about the work itself and of course the all important pay? Thanks for any info you may have.

They have a pretty extensive website. I talked to a terminal manager in TN about a job there; that particular terminal hauled hazmat waste to disposal sites. That particular terminal used daycabs and pulled tankers and dry vans. It would have been an excellent job. I didn't take the job; went with another tanker/hazmat company. It's a huge company. That's all I know about it.

No, don't remember the pay structure now, but it was very good. I lost interest because of the daycabs & the tanker/hazmat company I went with had nice sleeper units running coast to coast which is what I preferred.

Wow thanks for the responses, I really appreciate it. I didn't think I'd get any info on this company here, kind of an obscure company. Thanks again very much.

Clean Harbors runs sleeper trucks, in some operations. You'll be dealing with hazardous waste that moves on a hazardous waste manifest, not a BOL, and is usually placarded. I don't know how clean harbors is to work for, if they back up the drivers and expect the stuff to be moved legally, or not moved at all? I worked for a hazardous waste company that used to operate 100% correctly, then started taking shortcuts.

They are big in what they do. Make sure you clarify the pay structure before you sign on. This is hazardous waste company and the stuff you will be hauling will be highly regulated. You'll have to put up with a bunch of crap just to go from A to B.

I went a couple of yrs ago and the pay was $18.00 hr with plenty of O/T. You would be required to wear a pager during your emergency response wk. Early start times and that's all I know.
