Class E sounds like a for hire. Livery etc.

CDL A or CDL B after the permit is disposed of is going to be a Brand on you for life. Anything you do with that full CDL now and into the future all your natural days will either be good for you or damning. So you were not warned.

The other stuff in your record will follow into the CDL record since your driving license number is transported over to the higher Class of license. Just make sure you did nothing on that big truck with the CDL that will be very damaging economically to you. It's better sometimes to just have a car license. Gets out from some of the heavier punishment doled out to CDL holders.

The next thing you need is a Medical Card that is valid and will become attached to your CDL. If you cannot hold a Medical DOT card, then you swear out a tier two document and sign it at the DMV that allows you to hold a CDL without a downgrade which will happen once state understands you do not possess a DOT medical that is valid. You will be knocked down to a car license.

Well...it goes to show ya...I've never heard of a class E license either. Funny, 'cause I READ all the time. I've even looked over my license multiple times. There are three E's in drivers license, a couple more in my name and address and a few more scattered about but Illinois' passenger vehicle class is D. Perhaps you should educate yourself. I'll give you an F for assumptions.

That's how YOU took it. That's your opinion and you're entitled to it.
Doesn't mean it right/wrong or my intentions.

yup, OTR for 35 yrs. some say it's for passenger carrying 4 wheelers, or automatic restriction.
sorry no, I'm not up on all the classes and restrictions for all states.

NC does have it, as a auto tranny restriction, but it's relatively new .

this is what i found yesterday as i looked up the E class in my state

they have changed over a lot of endorsements and classifications...as i said previously, my states "operators license" for 4 wheelers is a class 10...not an E like in some states.

what i wonder is, if these changes are to the benefit of the CDL driver license and/or a whole USA change over eventually.>???

NEW ENDORSEMENTS AND RESTRICTIONS New Endorsements (effective 3-7-16):
    What was changed:
M- Motorcycle H-used to be the Motorcycle Restriction

R- Chauffeur R-used to be the Chauffeur Restriction

    H- Hazmat

    N- Tank

    P- Passenger

    S- School Bus

    T- Doubles, Triple

    X- Tank/Hazmat

New Restrictions (effective 3-7-16): What was changed:

A- Corrective Lenses C- Mechanical Aid* (old mechanical aids) (‘C’ now covers all mechanical aids) C- used to be Brake Clutch Extensions,

E- used to be Hand Controls,

G- used to be Special Equipment

    D- In/Outside Mirrors

    E- Automatic Transmission

    K- CDL Intrastate Only

    L- Vehicles without airbrakes

M- No Class A Passenger Vehicle M- used to be Insulin Dependent

    N- No Class A & B Passenger Vehicle

    O- No Tractor Trailer CMV

P- No Passengers in a CMV

    U- Ignition interlock required

    V- Medical Variance

X- No Cargo in CMV Tank Vehicle

    Y- Hardship

Z- No full air brake equipped CMV

*Note – the ‘C’ restriction now covers all mechanical aids. There will no longer be a specific restriction for the type of mechanical aid required.

i have the motorcycle endorsement, i always thought it funny that H was for motorcycles

my new class 10 operators license has the M for motorcycles....

It basically just a classic standard passenger car license.
