I'm thinking of getting my Hazmat endorsement because I see a decent amount of Class B jobs open with HAZMAT requirement. In particular I see Airgas class B driver jobs pop up. Anyone know how they are to work for? Anyone know the pay rate? Are they an 8 hour day or more like 10-12 hour days? Any info on them would be helpful. Thanks for any info you may have.

Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds

I think they pay about $13.00 an hour. Not sure about the hours.
-
The hours will vary as the routes will too. Be prepared for a lot of physical activity as you will be moving cylinders and dewars at almost every stop. Their fleet down here is leased from Ryder and maintained from them as well.

Thanks guys, appreciate the info. I heard up here in NJ they start at 18 an hour. Hard work part I'm not too worried about. Thanks again for the info.

Its steady work out here in Hawaii. You will be doing more labor of handling cylinders than driving. Hours are from 6:00- till finished. Usually 10-12 hours /day. Mon - Fri. Union pay @ $22.56 2012, $23.21 2013, $23.56 2014, $24.16 2015. $110/month for family medical plan. 401K. Vacation1-5yrs 2week, 6-10yrs 3 weeks, 11-19yrs 4 weeks, 20+ 5 weeks. 10 vacation days and 3 floating holidays. Been here 10 yrs now. Lots of opportunity for advancement nation wide if you decide to move up or transfer. Don't have any pics of B trucks but here are some of Semi-trailer. Good luck with your decision.

Home every night and living in Hawaii, you sir are living the dream!

#1 I agree with Trashtrucker1265 you are living the dream in Hawaii. #2 those are nice wages, I had no idea they were in a union. I'm gonna have to get my HAZMAT endorsement. Thanks for the info though, appreciate it much.

Only certain locations are Union. Drive Coast to Coast and get to go home every night. You wont find any sleeper cabs her either. Wages are decent but we also have to pay for the Sunshine Tax "high cost of living". But if you ask me to drive in snow, I would not know what to do. Look here for Airgas openings nation wide.

Yeah a job not too far from my house has been open for a while now. I actually applied but I don't have HAZMAT, but I thought they'd at least call and I wanted to talk to someone over there. I also applied to a different side of the company for a driving position that did not require HAZMAT, it was the Dry Ice division. Did you know they another side of the company that delivers dry ice? Pay was nice to start, 18.50. I must applied late because it was gone very soon after I applied.

Hazmat test only cost $5.00 so go get it now. Practice on these questions on Hazmat endorsements.
