Anyone with experience with Class A Leasing?

    http://www.classaleasing.net/index.html

I already have my Class B with air brakes, and would like to upgrade as an "insurance policy" (I work in radio and drive bus - bus has a future, radio? We'll see). Specifically, I'm left wondering if I could learn all I need on backing in the "2 hours and a test" option. Thanks!

I went there for a 2 or 4 hr class and used their truck with air brakes to take my behind the wheel test. It cost me about 500.00 when all was done. When I got there they went over the pre trip inspection with me and then I drove the truck and trailer through their practice test. I had allot of experience driving with farm trailers, boats, and campers over the years so the backing wasn't difficult. However, the pre trip was completely new to me. They will give you a pre trip inspection check sheet as soon as you set a testing date. If you have a truck you can practice on it will be very helpful. The truck was an automatic and the trailer was flatbed. It worked well for me. The people I saw fail that day failed the pre trip inspection.

So, what kind of instruction did you get besides the pretrip sheet? And som practice with my pickup and a flatbed would be helpful? Thanks for the info!

I did fine on their driving test which is the same as the behind the wheel, so I didn't get any additional help there. However, I was happy to go through the test since it was good to practice before the real test. I spent allot of time going over the pre trip on their extra trucks and trailers. Would say that I was glad I did it just to use their truck and trailer. It would have been allot more difficult with a regular semi and trailer.

I may still end up going this way for the test, but also have a couple owner operators locally that are willing to help teach me. I passed my combination test last Thursday, so now have my Class A permit. Pretty excited!

It was worth the 500.00 to me. Easy, truck and trailer to drive. Using a semi and a large trailer would have been much harder. Plus if your going to drive on a class a license the expense should be an unreimbursable business expense on your tax deductions. If u pay a buddy for fuel and take the test more than once the 500.00 will seem cheap.
