Need to get a used Cab/chassis International gvwr 26000# from Michigan to Maine.
The truck will eventually be registered commercially in Maine but for the trip Michigan DOT said all I need is signed title and insurance - no temp registration or tags?? How about a transit permit?
Also if it isn't registered commercially yet what class of drivers license should I have? Don't want to assume anything
May have to ship it
Class 6 (19,501-26,000 lbs.)

Go to the OOIDA website. There are a bunch of really good links on there in which you can get all this stuff done for you or steer you in the right direction.

Under 26000 doesn't require any special license. Penske/U-haul's biggest trucks are under 26000. (6 wheelers). I think you'll need an "in transit permit". Obviously, you can't haul anything on just a chassis. So, scales will only be looking at registration etc. That's if you stop. Some states say only "Commercial vehicles stop at scales".
