If you're in Alberta a class 2 covers 2, 3, 4 and 5. However, you will also have to have an air brake endorsement in order to drive trucks with air brakes. OTOH, a class 1 covers all classes except 6 and includes the air brake endorsement. Generally you would only get a class 2 vs. 3 or 4 if you intend to drive a bus with greater than 15 passengers.

ya so to answer, yes i live in Alberta, by stuff i meant dump/cement trucks, things of that nature, and i already have the Q endorsement on my class 5, im currently taking my class 3 course, im pretty much bob tailing it around town
the thing is the government is currently paying for 20hrs of class 3 training then its out of my pockets if i need more, and i will.
so what i was thinking is finishing my 20hrs of class 3 training, then doing my class 2, the class 2 will give me more options it seems if it covers everything a class 3 does plus busses.
class 2 exam is easy, its in an automatic bus, i can drive both but class 2 is in general much easier to get.
so thats my thinking, getting class 2 that way i can do what i want in terms of work, bus or any class 3 vehicle.
but in terms of the license, would it be a straight class 2, or 2,3,4?
if i have a class 2 and at some point i want to haul gravel in a dump truck, will it be an issue with a class 2 or would it be fine?

not sure if im making sense lol, but i hope i am

It's a class 2. A class 2 by definition allows the holder to drive anything in class 2, 3, 4 or 5. The only time an Alberta license lists multiple classes is if they do not overlap or are not superceded by another class, eg., I have classes 1 & 6 on my license which covers all vehicles.
