I've been hearing that Chrysler Transport is hiring (or is GOING to be hiring) in the Toledo area. What are they like to work for? Where do you apply? Any information at all would be greatly appreciated.

I spoke with a Chrysler driver about a month or so ago, he said they were hiring new drivers in at the lower tier wage, i think he said around $14/hr. Local & regional runs, i never asked but i assume it's a UAW job. He said they've had a lot of drivers applying for these jobs.

Not much job security there . It's rumored Cerebus will sell Chrysler Transport .
-
I wouldn't be surprised at that, most of their drivers avg. over $100K a year, combine that with maintence and fuel costs it would be an easy target to cut corners.
-
It wasn't one of those rumors heard on the CB either . http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601103&sid=atAEB_Lx6.6s&refer=us
When a union company is taking a lot of applications it either means they expect a strike or a lot of drivers are leaving because they expect a loss of jobs or other problems . -
I hope Cerebrus doesn't decide to sell it off, we need good paying jobs like that but if they do I wonder if Penske would buy out Chrysler Transport like they did with GM's private fleet. I know they do a fair bit of business with them up around Detroit. -
I doubt the new drivers will ever see half that figure, the $100K is for the full scale UAW workers working OT.
