Road master (designed by Cooper as stated on a sidewall) and Double Coin ( JV with Michelin up until 2017) are the best Chinese tires in my book.
When I shop for tires not only I look at the price and brand but at the tread depth and it’s hardness. Usually American, Japanese and European brands have deeper treads than Chinese. Some Chinese tires have deep treads but too hard for my taste (too slippery especially in wet conditions). That’s why I buy Goodyear (from the dealer on sale, usually at the end of the year), since I don’t like to pay for labor more often.
I think Goodyear is the only American tire manufacturer left right now. I know it sounds cliche, but recently I only buy Goodyear to save it from going under, and all the other issues I mentioned above.

I have had good luck running Samson tires on trucks and trailers.

I’ve read that the reason they wear a little funny is because the quality of their mixing the rubber is not good. So some parts of the tires might be a little softer than others.

    truckdriver31 Thanks this.

Michelins are the most comfortable in my book. Owners of the tire shops order them for their personal vehicles. They are the softest and grip the road the best. But they dry rot early.

I used to buy Test tires, made at the Findlay plant, from the Petro in North Baltimore. They were a great deal. Another thing that should be considered, no one will buy old Chinese casings. You’ll lose the casing credit, next time around, add disposal fee, Roughly $65 difference in actual cost.

The Double Coins I've seen had way deep tread and you could literally wiggle the lugs by hand, makes for a very squirrely drive I imagine.

This is another reason I buy Goodyear
Not as deep as Goodyear last time I was shopping for tires.

    Rideandrepair and 650cat425 Thank this.
