Is there a certain way to put the carseat in the truck? I've heard u need to turn off tthe air bags and make sure if the seat has air to let it out. Any other info on this? Someone said I may need a locking clip?

Also call your insurance agent to make sure the child and truck is covered while the minor is aboard.

Just say no.......to babies in trucks.
runningman0661 and drvrtech77 Thank this. -
You didny say how old. Some carseats have to face rearward depending on childs age. Personally, I'd say it's a bad idea if a child is that young unless it's an emergency.

He's three almost four

As long as the car seat can be securely fastened i'd much rather have a kid in a big truck over a 4 wheeler.

When I was 3 and 4, I just rode in the passenger seat and played with my toy cars on the dog box while my dad hauled logs in his 1987 International cab over. I even got a plastic badge and a pat on the head from a DOT officer when we got stopped for an inspection. I'm only 23 now. My oh my how the times have changed. Makes me feel old now that I think about it.

My 4 year old grandson rode with me last week on 2 short trips , I use the BOOSTER seat type ( good up to 65 LBS ) and its used with the normal lap / shoulder belt same as we use in the motorhome.

Also, in some places you have to use an actual carseat, not a booster until the child is XXX inches high...depends on the state....

Some places its based on the weight not the height and I was running into Ontario Canada and its based WEIGHT up there. Here I just DUCT TAPE him to the HEAD ACHE rack.
NDBADLANDS Thanks this.
