    Good morning everyone,
Just wondering how everyone (solo driver - no team) checks their tractor and trailer brake lights for a pretrip?
    Thanks in advance!

Turn on the headlights, turn on the emergency flashers, then start your walk around and look at all the lights as you go.

I use a weight that holds down my trolley valve. I've seen other people use an piece of dowel rod between the pedal and the steering wheel.

I have a ball peen hammer that will hold to the trailer trolley valve on the dash and hold it down. You can also get some wire and something heavy enough and fix it where it will hang and pull down

    FozzyNOK and bottomdumpin Thank this.

Some company trucks actually have a light check button on the dash, will cycle through everything while you walk around

On a Mack, the brake lights come on with the low air buzzer. As it airs up after firing it up, I turn on the 4-ways and walk around the truck. When I hook to a new trailer, I pull down on the hand valve and walk back to check.

Mine are easy to check, because it's always 2am still dark. Pull trailer out by ween 2 other trailers and see the reflections on each side.

I drive flatbed, so I use the weight of my bar [IMG]against the brake pedal, then walk back and take a look at the lights. Oop's, sorry, I mean winch bar.
