I am a cheap %$# when it comes to certain things. The cheapest DOT exam (you have to specify that you need drug screening). I found in my area of Dallas is Minute Clinic ran by CVS for $99. I paid $65 for my first exam but that is out of my area. I have seen some online adv. as cheap as $60 but none around here. So does anyone know of either a national chain or a independent around the Dallas area?? Concentra and Primacare both said $60 range but the drug screen takes it above $120.

Call OOIDA. They will talk you into join a group which is what you should do if you are an owner operator. If you are working for a mom and pop then they will still be able to refer you to someone in Dallas. Larger companies will pay for it.

I go to a concentra in the town next to me and only paid $65 for a full DOT exam. Pee test included.

I google "(city, state) DOT physical" will bring up a list all around you. Walking clinics are usually the cheapest and they start at $40. So if you find a $40 one you done good.

Why would you need a drug screen? Drug screens are the responsibility of the employer. OO's need to join a consortium.

No disrespect but screw chiropractors! :)

They tend to incorporate their practice into the physical. The last and I mean last one that done a physical on me put me in all kinds of pretzel moves. He even pushed real hard straight down on my head and it hurt but I didn't let him know that. The next day I couldn't move my right arm. I literally had to pick my right arm up and place it on the shifter then I could drive. I had to use my left hand on the brake buttons. This went on for 3 days. Then I grabbed my dummy arm up and placed it up high by my TV cabinet and grabbed a hold. I dropped my body down and it sounded like a .22 went off, crack! I was then okay after that and my arm returned to normal. But it was enough to give me chirophobia! :)

Not sure why you need the drug screen. The contractee or employer should pay for that if they are requesting it (and the DOT card too for that matter). Don't drive 40 miles or spend 2 hours calling around to save $10 for goodness sakes. Just get it done and be done with it. But if you're doing this for "yourself" be sure to self-certify and send in the form to the state.

Thanks for responses and thanks for telling me that the drug screen is not a DOT requirement.

Sounds like that was on purpose. I use to let my wife put her heal right between the shoulder blades and a .22 is exactly what it sounded like.
