I have a 2006 Caterpillar C15 Acert (MXS), I am going to change the inside wire harness in the front and back of engine. What is the torque specification for jake brake? Any suggestion or directions for this job ? Thanks for a help.

Take pictures for reference. I torqued everyything back to 55 ft lbs. If you haven't updated the bolt/studs that hold down the rocker shafts, now is a great time. Get the gasket(long grey rubber band) that goes between cover plate and head. Get the 2 small rubber gaskets that go where harnesses mount to the cover plate. Do a test fitment of the harness before tightening it to ensure all ends reach injector solenoids properly. Good luck and enjoy.

if your just changing the harness you dont have to mess with the jake, unless your doing an over head or updating the studs.

pull the valve covers, remove the oil bridges from spacer plate to the jake/vva's. there are 3 of them with 2 bolts each. just take the 2 bolts out and pull up on the bridges they will pop off the vva/jake fitting. dont loose the o-rings that are underneath the bridges, you can reuse if they are not hard. take the oil line off the back of spacerplate on the passenger side. get the updated one if not already. remove all the holddown bolts from spacerplate. unplug the two wire harness plugs. unplug jake/vvas plugs. unbolt injector plug plates. pull spacerplate off(careful dont flip upside down because there will be oil in the spacerplate oil galley) after dumping oil from spacerplate then flip over and start unbolting the metal wire looms holding the wire harnesses. make sure to remember which ones went where.pull the old harnesses through the harness holes( it will take time to thread them through) thread new ones in and repeat everything in reverse to put back together. make sure the harnessses are in the right place. you have two harnesses that go in there they are numbered on the injector plug plates for each cylinder. when you put the spacerplate back on the engine look and make sure the new harnesses arent touching any rocker arms. and everthing will go back together pretty easy.where the harness plugs bolt in the spacerplate make sure you have the rectangle o-rings in the grove before you tighten the bolts. oh almost forgot unplug the oil pressure sensor plug also when taking off spacerplate.
