CFI is now a standalone company sold from XPO/Conway. It started as a standalone, went through mergers and now has un-merged. I was recruited in September 2016, started October 2016.
Equipment is good, but could be specced better. They use KW, but have super singles and no APU. New trucks are coming with duallies, but many of the trailers will also have singles. They do give you Sirius XM.
Pay is average, .40 or less DOE. They pay extra for short, hazmat and northeast driving. Detention after 2 hours, pretty good about that, but layover doesn't start until after 48 hours.
Loads are planned at 47 mph. Drop/hook and be adjusted if needed, but appointments tend to be strict.
The only real gripe I have is hometime. You get one day off for every 7 out, and after 4 months I still can't tell you what the policy is to schedule hometime. I was told one thing by the recruiter, another thing in orientation, and another thing literally every time I have requested to go home. I had to request hometime 3 times just to get home to vote.

I just spoke with a recruiter and might head to cfi. what are the trucks governed at? and I was told they have a power strip in the truck, is that true?
-
They didn't un-metger ... They were bought by the parent company of Transport America
Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
They were bought by trans force, transforce also owns transport America .
-
That was a decent company in the late 90's - early 00's. I wonder if they will return to there previous status?
RockinChair and paul_4lp Thank this. -
Transforce, till isn't bad transport America is run owned by them but hey don't interfere in there matters or micro manage .
paul_4lp Thanks this. -
transport is sucking like a shop vac right now. getting rid of non-essential personel, installing security gates at terminals, im hearing some portion of xpo is our "sister" company. just not sure what part
paul_4lp Thanks this. -
I'm not sure what your issue with getting home is...Conway TLs old policy was ..Stay out 7 days and you can request home after that ...They would take up to seven days after the request to get you home ... Most people would stay out 3-4 weeks to be able to take off 3-4 days ..The day you arrived home did not count ...So if you got home at 8 AM you had the rest of the day home without counting towards your alotted time off

Smut Thanks this.
