I bet most of you have never heard of Ceva, but they are a large multinational transportation corporation. They were known as TNT Logistics until about a year ago. I work out of the Troy, Ohio terminal hauling car parts to dealerships for an automotive manufacturer. I don't know much about the rest of the fleet as I have only worked out of Troy since I've been there. I've been there two years.
Ceva is the best company I've ever worked for. I work about 55 hours a week and gross $1100. I'm home every day and I have the weekends off. I have a chronic health problem so health insurance is important to me. Their insurance is decent as far as co-pays and deductibles go, and the prescription benefit is excellent as far as trucking companies go. I get $400 worth of medicine monthly and my cost after insurance is $55.
Turnover is very low out of the Troy terminal. Since I've worked there they've had to replace 5 out of 30 drivers and no one since January of this year except for a guy who was killed in a motorcycle accident.
Things were looking scary to me there recently. Ceva also employed the dock workers who load our trucks, but the customer has decided they are going to take over the dock operations. The result is that 12 people are getting laid off. I was thinking that something like that might happen to us drivers, but I've been assured that I am not in danger of getting laid off.
They aren't a perfect company. There probably isn't such a thing. To work for them out of the Troy terminal you have to put in about 6 months as a temp. The pay still isn't bad, but the benefits are almost non-existent. Also, my route starts at 11pm and runs until 10am. About half of the trucking positions there are for overnight runs.

This outfit sucks big ones period.
If you like making .29 cents a mile and 30.5 split for teams this company is for you.
Otherwise, don't even think about these guys, they are looking for slaves, not professional drivers. Most everything is team and you will wind up running illegally to keep your job or you will quit, that's it. It's not even real team runs, it's like 5 and 5 but they expect you to log it like it's legal. You will work somewhere around 20 hours a day, for real. You are expected to make your logs look legal. if that is how you roll then this is the job for you.
Be warned, this company is totally about themselves and they do not care one iota about the drivers. You will spend your time unloading the freight for $6.50 a stop regardless of how long it takes or how difficult it is,period. You will get home sometime on Saturday sometime in the afternoon, and I stress sometime, then back to work Monday. I must admit that part is not all that bad but it will wear you down in no time.
They offer bonuses that never come, a pay increase after 90 days that never comes. Recruiter says youi'll start at 30.5 and raise to 31.5 in 90 days, that's a lie. They actually start you at 29.1 and that's it. Take it or leave it.
Bear in mind, this is only CEVA logistics in jacksonville, FL hauling Toyota parts.
I only post what I know to be fact.
This is the skinny on this company.
I don't know what's happening in Troy,OH but I do know what's happening in Jacksonville,Fl. -

Are the employees represented by the UAW? The reason I ask is Ryder Logistics, Charlotte, NC (UAW) handles automotive parts distribution for GM here in the SE US. Pay tops out at $14 per hour with mandatory overtime when times are good. Sadly, the local operation is 'diversity oriented' meaning near complete anarchy. I worked there briefly during a recent layoff; have never been called back - not concerned
Not the CEVA emplyees, only the Toyota side. -

I stumbled across this website and was happy to see someone feeling the same way I do. Ceva does not give a hoot abt their drivers. No raises, no bonouses just a bunch of hot air. They are liars and not true to their word. I agree with Sarge they want slaves not professional drivers. The hours are long, 20-23 hours a day, the pay is short, and you are expected to lie on your log book.
