REQUIREMENTS

• Applicant must be at least 21 years of age
• Applicant must have 0 moving violations for the previous 12 months
• Applicant must have 2 or fewer non-moving violations for the previous 2 years
• Applicant must be able to comply with all Driver Qualification Regulations in part 391.1 to 391.71 of the Federal Motor Carrier Regulation Handbook

 

We have a plant in Jasper, AL which is about 62 miles from the MS state line. We would consider hiring recent CDL grads in some of our locations. The onboarding plan for inexperience (hate that word) drivers is ~12 weeks, so not all of our sites have the bandwidth to take on new graduates.

@Old Yeller Totally valid points regarding the website's shortcomings. I will say that Central States Manufacturing first and foremost is a metal building component manufacturer and NOT a trucking company, so the website and all other marketing material over indexes on customer-facing information. We don't treat our drivers as truckers -- we treat them as Central States employee owners who deliver the stuff we make. They prefer it that way, and we prefer it that way. If we ever get to the point of treating our drivers like truckers, we've gone astray and lost one of our core focuses. I've attached one of our drivers' business cards showing we proudly proclaim them all to be employee owners/drivers.
