Yeah, team Central just became team dealer. Guessing how the carriers will rate after this.

Ya know LBZ this in a round about way ties right in with the Broker Bond being raised in upcoming legislation. Hmmmmm
LBZ Thanks this. -
A dealer pays a monthly fee to dealer track for software(anyway), gains direct access to central & has zero risk vs. owning their own equipment. Complete access to dictate the rate they want to pay.
Auto transport brokers meanwhile will continue the race to the bottom even if the bond legislation fails. Why would a broker want to maintain a bond for $10,000 or possibly more pending legislation when the dealers will not be required to do so? All risk on the carrier to collect.
Not so optimistic outlook today... -
I thought about doing auto hauling back in February.
I did not like some of the rates I was seeing. Especially with more costs for equipment and where to park.
Then I saw where collections could be an issue.
Now this? -
To be honest "most" of the dealers that I haul for actually pay me better or at least as good as a lot of the brokers. The one nice thing about dealing with the dealers direct is that in most cases it cuts out a lot of P/W and double calls.
As far as collections, I have been burnt by more "brokers" than "dealers", JMO. BUT as we all know it is or was pretty easy to call yourself a broker. A lot of the fly by nights work out of their home or a rented office, ALL of the dealers I haul for have legit, brick and mortar facilities and over a million dollars in inventories.

Joined Central back in December and starting hauling in January. Have had some brokers that were late and some I didnt think were going to pay. All in all I like the COD loads better but not always available. I have to take some 10-15 day loads to keep a full load. Is this the same dealer track that the car dealers use to submit your car loan for approval?

I think Central set themselves up so they would not fold when the bond requirement catches up with the brokers.

Is there any alternatives to CD that have similar volume?
