An old friend of mine has a CDL from Puerto Rico and has moved to Massachusetts. He wants to transfer his CDL to his new location and is running into a problem with Massachusetts DMV; they are apparently asking about log books from Puerto Rico, but since the place is so small, it can be driven in less than 3 hours and log books are not used. My thinking is that he should be able to get a school in Massachusetts that can cover log books and some driving skills so he can transfer his license with a modified form of a test for knowledge and skills.

Anyone have any ideas or advice for my friend?

Your friend isn't the first to be in this situation. He needs school, either private CDL school or trucking company CDL school.
He will need an original social security card and original birth certificate from his country of birth.
Since he has driven only on the island,my advice is to attend a 160 hr. CDL school.
Contact Earl Henderson Trucking and maybe they will take care of him. Their school is good and no money needed from you.

    Puppage Thanks this.

Does anyone know of a good CDL school in the Massachusetts area?
