You'll need your tsa background clearance before getting hazmat.

the DMV knows we do this.
the DMV very often "rotates" a series of questions, you never came across before.
the DMV very often changes the way they word a question.
good luck.
i only take a vision test when i renew my CDL, but in all actuality, i go to my optometrist, and i get a pass from him and what we call here, "the blue card" with the numbers of the exam on it. the DMV must accept this, from a doctor, and all these years, i have NEVER been asked to look into that whacked out machine they have. -
When do you plan on taking the test? I saved all of my text books & study materials from when I went to truck driving school. The hazmat test covers a lot of knowing what distances that you need to be parked away from certain things, the different classes of hazardous materials, properly placarding, How to properly read a BOL that contains a hazardous material. What you should know & do in the event of a hazardous spill. That's what I can think of off the top of my head.
