I'm pretty open to anything, obviously I want to get with a company that pays well, but a pet policy (cat) and rider policy is very important to me, as well as having a home terminal within a reasonable distance

I currently just have my learners permit, 1/3rd of the way through and independent school, no endorsements yet but I plan on testing for them all before I graduate

I would like to stay regional around the south at the most, but will do full blown otr if I need too, I have family that will need me back home at least once a month

Any LTL companies that have beginner training? Also feel free to recommend me any good local jobs even though I know that's a long shot.....or any good small Louisiana companies I can look at once I have some more experience

    Chinatown Thanks this.

Most LTL companies are full right now, due to so many companies going out of business and the experienced drivers there are snagging the LTL/Linehaul jobs.
Which city/town are you in or near in Louisiana?

Do you have a place to park a truck, in a safe place near your home?

The CDL job market for brand new drivers is on life support right now.

    Thus, the following suggestions:
    • When you get your CDL -- get ALL of the relevant endorsements: tanker, hazmat -- & doubles/triples; this will maximize potential opportunities for you later.
    • If your CDL school is worth its salt -- one or more carriers will visit your class, for recruiting purposes. They will very likely have a training program for new drivers...like yourself.
Otherwise -- many carriers that would normally take students right out of school -- now require 3 or 6 months experience (& some want even more). OR -- they will want you to run teams.

Yes I have a safe place to park, I live in a rural area so it's fairly easy to find a place, they have 2-3 drivers that park at the community dumpster bins area to the side and never get bothered, as well as a few abandoned gas stations they have parked at for years now, and if worse comes ro worse im sure I could find someone to "rent" a parking spot on their land

I have enough land to park on, but I don't think I could get a trailer down my driveway, it would have to be bobtail to park on my own yard

I'd rather not do teams, not with some strangers, and I don't have anyone I know that drives, I've heard to many horror stories

Most companies don't allow cats, but a few do.
