A long time CDL holder with no experience is worse than a newly trained CDL holder.
How could you possibly expect to get a job without at least a refresher course and some time with a trainer?

And it isn't an insurance company thing. Why would anyone put you behind the wheel when you have not actually used that CDL for 20 years?
Have you kept up with pre-trips, backing a 53 foot trailer, watching those corners in the turns, or anything else?

You would be far better off going back to school, as though you never had that CDL in the first place.
