    @ dyingtolive,

About Ladd's, Mike is very competent, sensible and fairly priced. I've had a lot of pieces that I picked up here and there, worked on by him and never had to return a single one. I am stationed in Germany now and was trying to find his contact info which is how I found this thread. If you go to Mike's shop could you do me a favor and ask him to contact me @ richardgoodbar@yahoo.com? There is no one that works on radios over here anymore and I could use some tech advise on a RCI 2990 DX.
    Thanks,
Rock-n-Roll Express........Not truckin' anymore, so the only thing I get to Express is my opinion!

    Mike5511,

I live in Ft. Smith and there is no one down here to work on radios. Will you tell me how to get in touch with your radio guy?

There is a radio tech who goes by "Wildman" or "Truckers Choice CB" who used to hang around Exit 20 on I-40 just east of Ft. Smith. You should be able to hear him on Ch 19 during the day.

Haven't heard anything good about him. You have a good tech close to you at whatever Hood's Truck Stop exit is, exit 61 maybe, on I-44, MO. I used him all the time several years ago, before the one I use now was around. And I will go back to him if my guy I use now quits or moves away. (Hope he doesn't leave or quit because he is the best one I've ever used.)

I've known Jim at Hood's for years. Awesome tech and has a great reputation all around these parts. Was just at his shop last week buying a few mics. He always lets me look around the neat CB parts and stuff he has in his back room.

I don't know much about "Wildman" other than he was hanging around I-44 in Joplin for about a year until the tornado hit... then went back down to Ft. Smith to conduct his business. I "guess" he's still active down that way.

Jim's a good guy. I got to know him when he was still up at Bolivar in the little white house. Did you ever meet the guy that worked in the back room with Jim for a while a few years back??? His name was Russ.

(by the way......here is a confirmation to a good CB shop on I-44 near Joplin for you guys out there wanting to find a good tech.....take note.)
