Ok being a newbie it's kinda hard for me to tell you all of that info. Its an older Cobra Radio. It was my Dads. Yes it does have a lot of value to me, as I do not have him anymore, and I'm trying to become a trucker. It woul d be nice to have some peice of him in the cab with me. Outside of that when I key the mic on it the meter on the front max's out in red,(I dont remember it doing that.) I can call out to anyone and everyone, and I never get a responce. So I dont think its working. Thats the best discription I can give.

Here is a long shot .......

Since he has been around a long time contact Sparky CB repair and see if he would be willing to refurb it for you .....

Ok I will try that, and see what I come up with. If the repair exceeds what a newer modern one would cost, ill just keep it, and get me a new one. Thanks for the info guys!

Hey Iceman82,
Don't let these guys mislead you. Your radio can be repaired.
Access to the internet and a static mailing address are all you need.
www.gijoe.com, www.customradios.com, www.radioactiveradios.com, www.bigmouthcb.com, are all shop with websites, which I personally have
either had work done or purchased radios, and accessories from.
Good luck,
Jimbo

Also Iceman82,
I own 9 c b radios dating from 2010 back to the mid 1970's. I have no problem purchasing parts for any of these radios. Just call one of the shops I've mentioned.
One more shop, www.sparkyscbshack.com ,would be in the top three choices.

Any radio CAN be repaired it becomes a problem of parts and cost.
Would I recommend ( less the fact it has personal value to him ) putting money in a old or pre 9/10/76 radio No I would not ......

I have myself older HAM radios some 50 years old or more but if they die they will stay that way ……

It is like cars sometimes you just got to let it go …..

One I did restore a 1962 vintage Little LULU transmiter only 250 were made ....
