There's a guy at in Royse City at the exxon fuel station. His shop is attatched to the west side of the building, but you have to walk around to his door... not accessable from inside the fuel station. If I remember right, his name is Randy or Ricky... something like that. I had him do some work on a radio once and he's pretty good and his prices are fair.

Another guy works out of a van around the truck stops down on I-20. I usually hear him advertise around midmorning to noon and a lot of guys swear by him. Just call out for "the radio man" and he'll almost always answer.

the best cb shop in the dallas area is Kilgore's cb shop in ft.worth. Been in the same location for over 30 years. Phone number is (817) 478-2111. Tell him you heard it from "CarPainter"

"MR.G" is the guy in Royce City, and good-luck catching him in his shop! Half the time he's not there...

The guy on I-20 that works out of his Van is a total joke! And I have gone out of my way to tell people this every time I hear the old fart on the air! This guy is the reason allot of the local CB Shops have good business tho...They get to fix his screw-ups!

There are several good shops tho in the area...Kilgores being one of them, but he has a tendency to close early or not even open at all...just depends on what kind of mood he's in that day!

There is Jim's CB Shop in Ennis who is good (exit 249 off I-45)

Ike's CB Shop in Irving off Loop12 and Irving Blvd. (one block east of Loop12 on Irving Blvd. closed on Mondays, opens at around 10:30am rest of the week)

CB Shack (Tim) down the street from the Flying J on I-20 (few blocks north of Flying J) 214-371-3729 for directions.

Bonnie & Clyde CB Shop off Harry Hines (Stay away from this one!!! They send there work out for repaires, and every-thing in their store is way over priced!)

There is also a CB Shop inside the Chrome Shop across the street from the Flying J (exit 470 on I-20) who is OK on small stuff. They P&T a Galaxy 99 of mine, and did a OK job on it...Problem with this shop tho, is they have several different people doing repaires, so it's "Hit & Miss".

Main thing is: "When you hear the guy on the air in the mornings on 19 saying he will P&T your radio for $20 while you watch",....Unless your thinking of buying a new radio anyway, and have a 20 dollar bill just burning a hole in your pocket...Stay-Away from that Hack-Job!

    KD5AXG Thanks this.

Yeah that was the plan early on,after things got up and running he would
    stay back in Eastland.
Someone was to reopen that building at the #349 but not as a radio shop.

Hard to keep up with folks if your equipment never fails :biggrin_25520:

If you're heading west on I-20, there is a pretty good shop at the Truck & Travel truckstop in Weatherford, TX. Take exit 406. You can see the shop just behind there in my signature picture. I talked with the guy, and he said he fixes just about any radio right there on the spot.

Try Dalworth CB on Irving Blvd in Dallas. They have done excellent work for me in the past.
