I just recently installed a cb radio in my truck and was wondering what channel truckers run the most? Mine has 40 channels if that helps with information.

Nowadays it's likely to be Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, or T Mobile.

Channel 19. Lots don't use the cb much anymore. Only when they get in, or to a traffic backup. Then all are asking, whats going on up there.

Highway Sailor and Puppage Thank this.

It's channel 19 for general info. If you want to hear people from 40 miles away, there's only one tech to take it to, but I'm not sure you're ready for that mind blowing performance just yet.

In Cali, it’s channel 17 on I-5 until lost hills then it goes to 15 I believe. Up in Northern Cali, highway 299 is channel 3 on the west side of Redding, and 17 on the east side. 19 will get you nowhere in Cali.

stwik and Air Cooled Thank this.

I recently moved to Oregon. It’s still 17 up here I believe. Cali gets weird.

Test you CB often; get on Channel 19 and ask if there's any "commercial company" out there.

Roger that. Always kept in on 17. Talked to quite a number of long haulers that were running 19 but they dropped it down to 17 bc all of the local dirthaulers with their big 10m radios were splattering ten channels up and down.
