I went to the dealer to get a ocv/ccv filter but no luck, went to two different dealers freightliner and peterbilt. The ocv/ccv assembly that is on the truck is 285-8712, both dealers said it shows up in cat parts but it won't let them break it down. And for some reason they can't find the filter element for it. They also checked with the engine serial number that also didn't work cause it didn't come with from factory. Anybody know what is the part number for the filter?

Depending on the year of the engine cat made two versions of the CCV. The older engines will need to have the update done, which changes the canister to accept the new type filter. We have a few where the were plugging up every 6-8 weeks, and even cat couldn't figure it why there doing it. We simply snap the filter off and put the cap back on, haven't had a problem since. No more CEL for crank case pressure high.

Here are some pics of my updated occv filter
you will see the paint can lid to deflect any oil down the correct passage back to the sump,
the rest is simple just heat shrink,
you will not have the crank case pressure fault unless there are other mechanical issues, also you guys running deletes where the crank case pressure sensor no longer is seen by the ecm, you will not blow turbo seals and have oil leaks on the rest of the engine due to high crank case pressure ( blocked occv filter ) -

If this is a retrofit to a mxs/bxs/nxs try:
308-9305 filter
5h-6734 o ring
322-2816 wear pad at bottom of the housing
