I am the 2nd owner of my 2005 Pete 379

I would like to reprogram my Cat Messenger to put insert my name and make some changes.

Does anyone know how I go about doing this?

I have not had any luck finding a manual for it online.

    thanks

Thank you. That is very helpful.
But looks like I can't reset the device without having Electronic Service Tool ?
    That stinks

I have CAT messenger. Newer engines like acert twin turbos have awards stuffs on it. I don't know if someone knows about awards.

Sorry - I don't understand what you mean about "awards stuff"? If so, please explain.
    Thanks

I really want to reset mine as there is only room for 2 drivers to be installed and both are full and not mine. And I would like to use the Theft Detergent Feature as well that is locked up.

    Thanks

    “Accessing Theft Deterrent”
    ECM Customer Programmable parameters
determine the access to this function of the dash
display and the Theft Deterrent password. The
ECM must be programmed to allow access to this
screen. The ECM must be programmed or the
entire “Theft Deterrent” column of the screen map
will not be shown. Pressing the Right arrow key
on the “DIAGNOSTIC DATA” title screen will cause
the display to pass over the “THEFT DETERRENT”
    title screen.
After the parameters are programmed in the
ECM, the power must be turned OFF and the
power turned ON again in order for the display to
    recognize the change.

Driver reward is more of an option for fleets, not owner ops, but some use it for select reasons to drive faster than the ECM is limited to. It is based on 5 factors and the weight of each can be adjusted. Average engine speed, average driving speed over 50 mph, average throttle demand, percent idle time and shift RPM. The owner of the fleet sets the target thresholds and if a driver drives the truck within those thresholds they'll be rewarded with extra speed. For example, a fleet may have their trucks limited to say 60 MPH, but if the driver stays in the thresholds, they can set it to add 5 MPH. It's most common for fleet who use it to set threshold that target better fuel economy.

When in vocational school, we had c-15 bxs 475 hp that has the messenger on it. It used to be on international according to AR number and it had the reward stuff. We also have a sdp c-15 engine. I don't know if that engine needs the messenger.
